We have distribution program of improved seedlings to farmers; in a bid to improve production so to improve food security and household incomes of farmers, the organization has distributed improved seedlings to farmers. The seedlings include, 105,000 Elite coffee seedlings, 20 spray pumps, 90 indigenous goats, vegetable seeds and fruit seedlings among others. This is a remedy to the scarcity of improved seedlings identified by the community members during the watershed needs assessment exercise organized by the organization.
In a bid to improve Soil fertility among farmers, the project has purchased and distributed 90 goats to 90 farmers. These goats are reared using zero grazing system so as to provide droppings to farmers which can be put in the banana and coffee plantations to improve soil fertility. The distributed goats will not only improve soil fertility but also improve household income levels hence reducing the high poverty levels among the communities.
